If you like garlic, you are going to lose your marbles over garlic scapes. Our friends at Freiert Farms are the 'garlic kings' of this area and their scapes do not disappoint. Garlic scapes are the flower bud of the garlic plant. The bud is removed in late June/early July to encourage the bulbs to thicken up. Cooking with garlic scapes is as easy as cooking with plain 'ol garlic. So don't let the long curly-que shape intimidate you, the taste is the same as garlic.
