Labor Day? How the heck did we get here? If you're anything like me, you're wondering where this year has gone so far. We're in mid-season for the harvest so that means time for transition. We're starting to pull out summer squash and cucumbers to make room for some possible late season crops like salad greens. Tomatoes are going strong and peppers don't look to be ending their growing run anytime soon. You can see evidence of what a hot growing season does on fall crops...our pumpkins are already orange. Yikes! We might be having Halloween in September!! This week's share includes: Sweet Corn (Freiert Farm), Zucchini or Yellow squash, White Scallop squash, purple eggplant, white eggplant, Green Bell Pepper, Purple Bell Pepper, Banana Pepper, Jalapeno Pepper, Beefsteak Tomato, San Marzano Tomato, Bright Lights Swiss Chard, Curly Blue Ridge Kale, and Fresh picked basil...whew!
