Fall Hustle

All the anticipation that comes with a new growing season, ends with a whole lot of hustle to get the field ready for hibernation. Everything that went into making this a plentiful growing season, now needs to come out. From Tomato cages to plastic row covers and stakes to hoses and sprinklers. Take down, is as much work as set-up! And it's an important time to ficus on the health of our soil. Every year, we are careful to get all tomato plants and rotting tomatoes out of the garden...this prevents blight the following year. To improve the drainage in our growing plot, we will also be plowing the field in addition to tilling organic fertilizer into the ground.
